Blue Jays Netball is committed to providing a safe, inclusive and supportive environment for all children and young people involved in our Club.

We recognise that children have the right to feel safe, respected and heard, and we take our responsibility to protect their wellbeing seriously. Blue Jays Netball has zero tolerance for any form of child abuse, neglect, bullying or discrimination.

We are committed to:
  • Upholding the Queensland Child Safe Standards
  • Promoting the safety, wellbeing and rights of all children
  • Creating a culture where children feel confident to speak up
  • Ensuring all coaches, volunteers and officials understand their responsibilities
  • Responding promptly and appropriately to any concerns about a child's safety

All coaches, volunteers and committee members are expected to act in accordance with our Child Safety & Wellbeing Policy, and Code of Conduct.

If a child, parent or guardian has concerns about safety or wellbeing, they are encouraged to raise this with a committee member, preferably our Vice President (vicepresident@bluejaysnetball.com). All concerns will be taken seriously and handled confidentially.

Blue Jays Netball is proud to be an Affiliated Club of Brisbane Netball Association, and is committed to maintaining a child-safe sporting environment for all participants.

CHILD SAFETY POLICIES

CHILD SAFETY STANDARDS

The 10 Child Safe Standards are one of two components of Queensland's Child Safe Organisation system and must be implemented by businesses or organisations working with or providing spaces and facilities for anyone aged 17 years and under.

Around 40,000 organisations will need to show they are child safe through meeting these Standards. This includes small volunteer and community groups and sole traders, through to large and well-established organisations, such as hospitals, schools and churches. More information can be found on their website.
